Montreal’s Ahuntsic-Cartierville Neighborhood Rocked by Arson, Police Launch Investigation

Montreal authorities probe early morning blaze in Ahuntsic-Cartierville area

In the early hours of Wednesday, Montreal police began investigating a suspicious fire that broke out in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood. Reports indicate that a concerned citizen alerted authorities around 12:30 a.m. after witnessing an individual igniting a fire near the intersection of Gouin West Boulevard and Crevier Street, as outlined by Johany Charland, the spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).

Upon arrival, law enforcement found firefighters already on the scene, diligently working to extinguish the flames. Fortunately, the fire was swiftly brought under control, resulting in only minor damage to the building with no reported injuries.

Regrettably, the alleged perpetrator managed to flee the scene before the police could apprehend them. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
