Vancouver Police Arrest Man in Purse Snatching Incident
In a swift response to a reported purse snatching incident in South Vancouver, Vancouver Police Department apprehended a suspect on Tuesday morning. The incident unfolded at the intersection of Fraser Street and East 45th Avenue at 9 a.m., as a 68-year-old woman fell victim to the robbery.
Following a witness report, law enforcement officers successfully detained a 51-year-old man believed to be the perpetrator of the crime. The suspect has been formally charged with robbery and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 15 for this offence, as well as facing a separate charge of theft under $5,000 from a previous incident in March, with a court date set for Jan. 5.
Although the suspect has been released from custody, the Vancouver Police Department continues to investigate the incident with diligence.
