A man and a child have gone missing since Wednesday evening when the tractor they were on was observed sinking in Lake Ernest in Saint-Zénon, Lanaudière region.
The man, in his forties, was with a young child clearing snow near the lake, as confirmed by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Around 6 p.m., a family member noticed the tractor sinking and alerted emergency services.
Despite an extensive search by police in the surrounding area and nearby cottages, the two individuals have not been found.
On Thursday morning, SQ divers were en route to the lake to aid in the search, according to SQ spokesperson Marc Tessier.
