“Brampton Chaos Unleashed: Man, 42, Accused of Hijacking Semi-Trailer, Rams Police Cruiser in Daring Escape!”

A man was apprehended and accused in connection with an investigation involving a stolen vehicle in Brampton.

Reports from authorities indicate that a semi-trailer truck was reported missing from a repair shop in the vicinity of East Drive and Torbram Road on December 21.

The subsequent day, law enforcement officers located the pilfered truck near Williams Parkway and Humberwest Parkway. Tethered to the truck was a trailer that had allegedly been stolen from Halton Region over the weekend of December 20.

“In an attempt to detain the vehicle, officers initiated a traffic stop, but the driver failed to comply and collided with a clearly marked police cruiser, resulting in significant damage,” stated Peel Regional Police in a press release issued on Monday. “Fortunately, no injuries were sustained.”

Authorities have released an 8-second video depicting the moment of impact.

“The stolen truck was driven until it became inoperable, and at that point, the suspect fled on foot,” police elaborated. “A pursuit on foot followed, ultimately leading to the successful apprehension of the individual.”

Nirmal Singh, a 42-year-old, has been charged with six offenses, including multiple counts of possession of property obtained through crime, evading police, reckless operation of a vehicle, possession of tools for breaking in, and possession of an automotive master key.

Law enforcement disclosed that Singh had previously been prohibited from driving nationwide. He now faces an additional eight charges of operating a vehicle while under prohibition and is being held for a bail hearing.
