A man in Guelph, Ontario, is facing serious charges after an alleged attempt to harm his mother last week. The incident unfolded following a family dispute at a residence near Edinburgh Road North and London Road West on December 21.
According to Guelph police, a woman in her 60s reported being assaulted and strangled during the altercation. She was promptly taken to a hospital for necessary medical attention.
The authorities have arrested the woman’s 39-year-old son who now faces multiple charges including attempted murder, assault with a weapon, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, and breaching a probation order. The suspect is currently in custody awaiting his court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.
