For those planning to explore the GTA, take advantage of free rides on the TTC, GO Transit, and the UP Express from 7 p.m. on December 31 to 8 a.m. on January 1, with additional services available on all three transit systems.

Here are some fantastic places to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the GTA:

New Year’s Eve Celebrations at Harbourfront
The official New Year’s Eve festivities in Toronto will take place at the vibrant Harbourfront area. Starting at 10 p.m. on December 31, enjoy pop-up performances, live entertainment, a 10-minute midnight fireworks display visible from various spots overlooking Toronto’s inner harbor, and a live stream on YouTube. Additionally, there will be a DJ skate party, captivating light displays, diverse food vendors, and a winter maze. Please note that there will be no fireworks at City Hall or Nathan Phillips Square.

NYE at the Distillery District
Join the lively atmosphere at the popular Distillery District, known for its Winter Market throughout the month. The New Year’s Eve celebration will feature live entertainment from 6 to 9 p.m., followed by a festive New Year’s Eve Bash at 10 p.m. with Devo Brown and DJ Clymaxxx leading into 2026 with a spectacular midnight fireworks show.

New Year’s Eve at the CN Tower
For a unique experience, head to the iconic CN Tower where the 360 Restaurant is offering a special three-course meal to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Reservations are still open, but there is a cost of $150 per person.

Celebration Square in Mississauga
Join the festivities at Celebration Square in Mississauga for a fun-filled New Year’s Eve celebration. Enjoy a confetti shower at 9 p.m. for the little ones, followed by a K-Pop Dance Party featuring East2West. The square will also host a midnight fireworks show to mark the arrival of the New Year.

Garden Square in Brampton
Residents and visitors are welcome to Garden Square in Brampton for a free New Year’s Eve concert featuring Alessia Cara, accompanied by a dazzling midnight fireworks display.

Origin Square in Markham
Markham’s celebrations begin at 10:30 p.m. with DJ DevoDLive playing the top hits, leading up to the countdown to 2026 and a grand fireworks display at midnight.
