White Rock Hospital Announces 72-Hour Diversion for Incoming Expectant Parents, Again

White Rock’s Peace Arch Hospital maternity unit closed temporarily on Monday due to a shortage of OBGYNs, leaving expectant parents to seek care at other hospitals for the next three days. This closure is the second 72-hour diversion in recent weeks, as Fraser Health addresses staffing challenges in the region.

Fraser Health has been working to recruit more OBGYNs to meet the increasing demand for services in hospitals like Peace Arch and Ridge Meadows. Despite recent closures, the health authority remains committed to ensuring expectant parents receive the care they need.

If you are in labour or have a pregnancy concern, Fraser Health advises contacting the Maternity Unit for guidance on accessing appropriate care during this temporary closure. The health authority aims to continue improving maternity services and addressing any service gaps in the coming months.
