Toronto Subway Terror: Man Arrested for Attempted Fiery Attack on Passenger

Toronto police have apprehended a man wanted in connection with a concerning incident at Kennedy Station on an early Sunday morning. The suspect reportedly approached an individual on the subway platform at around 6:30 a.m., allegedly trying to set fire to the victim’s jacket. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the man fled the scene.

In addition, authorities linked the same individual to another incident that occurred at Scarborough Town Centre on Dec. 29 at approximately 6:30 a.m. In this separate case, a victim left his jacket unattended on a chair in the mall, which the suspect allegedly ignited before nonchalantly walking away. Later, outside one of the mall entrances, the accused supposedly attempted to set another person’s clothing ablaze.

The suspect has been identified as 47-year-old Donald McFarlane from Toronto. He has been arrested in connection with these incidents and faces charges related to the offenses. McFarlane is expected to make a court appearance at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre.
