Vancouver Canucks goalie, Kevin Lankinen, has been a brick wall in shootouts this season, shutting out all 17 attempts against him. This remarkable feat showcases his unbeatable form in the net, with a perfect 100% save percentage against some of the NHL’s top players. In a recent game against the Seattle Kraken, Lankinen’s stellar performance, combined with Liam Ohgren’s clutch shootout goal, secured a 3-2 road victory for the Canucks.
Ohgren, a 21-year-old rookie acquired from the Minnesota Wild, has proven himself as a shootout specialist, scoring in both of his career NHL shootout attempts. His winning goal against the Kraken highlighted his composure and skill under pressure, earning praise from Canucks coach Adam Foote.
While Lankinen’s shootout prowess is impressive, his impact extends beyond that. In the same game, he made a total of 37 saves, showcasing his resilience and determination to keep the Canucks in the game, ultimately leading them to victory. Despite facing a tough opponent on a winning streak, Lankinen’s performance stood out as a turning point in what has been a challenging season for the Finnish goaltender.
