The Burnaby RCMP’s Gang Enforcement Team (BGET) made a significant bust on December 17, seizing over 97 kilograms of illegal drugs and $70,000 in cash. Following a six-month drug trafficking investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a suspect’s home in New Westminster, leading to the apprehension of a 29-year-old male.
Among the seized substances were 15 kilograms of cocaine, 41 kilograms of methamphetamine, 30 grams of fentanyl, and 41 kilograms of cannabis. The total street value of the drugs is estimated at close to $4 million, as stated by the Burnaby RCMP in an official release.
Furthermore, authorities discovered illicit drug manufacturing equipment and currency counting devices on the premises. The investigation is ongoing to determine how the suspect acquired such a large quantity of illegal drugs.
