Authorities Call for Help in Investigating Fatal Crash on British Columbia’s Coquihalla Highway
Authorities in British Columbia are reaching out to the public for assistance in unraveling the mystery behind a tragic crash that took place on the Coquihalla Highway over the weekend.
The BC Highway Patrol disclosed that the incident occurred on a Saturday afternoon, between 11:50 a.m. and 12:20 p.m., in the vicinity of Hope, specifically between Othello Road and the Sowaqua chain-up area.
According to reports, a white Toyota Yaris hatchback veered off the highway, plunging down an embankment. Sadly, the 21-year-old female driver from Vancouver succumbed to her injuries in the hospital two days following the collision.
Despite the crash transpiring in broad daylight, no witnesses have come forward, rendering the circumstances surrounding the event even more perplexing. Tragically, the victim was unable to provide any account of the events leading up to the crash before passing away.
Law enforcement is urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses dashcam footage of the crash site at the time to come forward, as they seek to ascertain whether there was any criminal involvement in the tragedy.
