Tragic Death After Man Deliberately Sets Fire to Tent Outside Downtown Church
A devastating incident unfolded in downtown Toronto as a man tragically lost his life due to a deliberate fire set outside a church. Toronto police reported that the victim, Keith Appleby, 51, was inside a tent that was intentionally ignited by the accused, Loewen Wolfe, 36, in the early hours of December 26, 2025.
According to investigators, Wolfe not only set fire to the tent but also threw additional items onto it to intensify the blaze. Appleby sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away on December 29.
The suspect, who was previously charged with arson offenses, is now facing a new first-degree murder charge in connection with this tragic incident.
