The heart of downtown Toronto faced disruption when a water main ruptured, leading to the ongoing closure of important lanes on Front Street East.
As per updates from the City of Toronto’s road operations channel, the northbound and eastbound lanes at the intersection of Front Street East and Scott Street are still inaccessible as of Friday morning.
Toronto law enforcement revealed that they received the initial distress call on Thursday around 5:42 p.m. due to reports of significant flooding on the street. Upon arrival, emergency units encountered water accumulating across various lanes and seeping towards nearby junctions.
The full scale of the water main break has yet to be officially determined.
