In the early hours of Monday morning, a blazing commercial fire ripped through an auto yard in Brampton, causing extensive damage to a fleet of tow trucks.
First responders rushed to the scene at 250 Rutherford Road South, close to Steeles Avenue East, around 3:30 a.m. following reports of numerous vehicles ablaze. Firefighters were met with a sizable section of the yard engulfed in flames upon arrival.
According to officials speaking to 680 NewsRadio, up to 16 tow trucks were targeted in the fire. While the exact scope of the destruction is yet to be fully assessed, investigators describe the impact as severe.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.
At present, authorities have refrained from disclosing any details regarding potential suspects or motives. The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
