An elderly pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by two vehicles at the corner of East Broadway and Slocan Street in Vancouver. The 87-year-old woman was hit while crossing southbound by two vehicles heading westbound on Broadway early Sunday morning. The incident, which took place just after 6:10 a.m., left the pedestrian in critical condition, prompting her to be rushed to Vancouver General Hospital by BC Emergency Health Services.
Following the accident, Vancouver Police’s Collision Investigation Unit promptly arrived on the scene to aid in the ongoing investigation. Fortunately, both drivers involved in the collision stayed at the site and are cooperating with authorities.
As a result of the collision, traffic in the vicinity was disrupted for several hours on Sunday.
