Elwood Quinn, Visionary Founder of Quinn Farm, Passes Away at 78

Elwood Quinn, the beloved patriarch of Quinn Farm located in Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, just outside Montreal, has passed away at the age of 78.

The sad news was shared by his children via social media, revealing that Quinn suffered a heart attack while tending to his animals, operating his trusty tractor, and enjoying breakfast with friends on a Saturday morning. His passing, described as “almost perfect for a farmer,” marks the end of an era for the renowned farm.

Quinn will be fondly remembered as a fervent and devoted farmer who not only cultivated crops but also cultivated a profound connection to the land. His legacy includes a wealth of agricultural wisdom that he lovingly passed down through the generations. Among his proudest achievements were his diverse apple varieties, the flourishing trees he nurtured, his cherished farm machinery, and most importantly, witnessing his family carry on the farming tradition that draws countless visitors each year.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Quinn’s memory with donations to Heritage Livestock Canada or Au cœur des familles agricoles.

A celebration of Elwood Quinn’s life is slated for early May, and further details will be shared soon.
