Two suspects have been apprehended by the North Vancouver RCMP in connection with a bear-spray attack at Capilano Mall that took place in December. The apprehension occurred on Jan. 3 while officers were on patrol along Marine Drive.
According to authorities, the arresting officer identified the suspects from surveillance footage captured on the day of the incident. The assault, which involved two masked individuals entering a store at the mall and deploying bear spray on three employees, transpired around 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 18. Fortunately, no items were reported stolen during the attack.
Following the assault, the perpetrators managed to flee before the arrival of law enforcement, despite an extensive search that involved the use of an aerial drone.
Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, the Media Relations Officer, expressed relief that the victims did not sustain serious physical harm, emphasizing the significant impact of the event. He also conveyed gratitude for the community’s support and announced the successful arrests of the suspects.
