In South Vancouver, a busy intersection had to be shut down for several hours on Thursday morning following a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The Vancouver Police Department took quick action by closing off Knight Street to southbound traffic at the intersection of 41st Avenue after the incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m.
Emergency paramedics rushed to the scene and transported the injured pedestrian to the hospital for assessment, while the driver involved in the accident stayed at the location.
Seeking more details on the incident, 1130 NewsRadio has contacted BC Emergency Health Services for additional information.
Fortunately, the VPD reopened the intersection fully around 8 a.m., restoring normal traffic flow in the area.
