19-Year-Old Woman Arrested in Shocking Georgetown Shooting Incident

A young woman was apprehended in connection with a shooting incident that took place in Georgetown. Halton police responded to a report of a woman being shot at the intersection of John and Victoria streets around 3:45 p.m. The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and is now in stable condition after being taken to the hospital.

Emma MacLean, a 19-year-old resident of Georgetown, has been identified as the suspect. She faces charges including assault with a weapon, intentional discharge of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm, and violation of a probation order. Following her arrest, search warrants were executed at two separate locations as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have indicated that MacLean and the victim were acquainted, leading them to believe that the shooting was targeted. MacLean is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing in Milton.
