Authorities in Langley Township are currently investigating a fatal incident involving a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a train on Thursday evening.
The Langley RCMP received reports of the tragic collision near Derby Hills Park and the 208 Street rail crossing just before 8 p.m. Sadly, the victim passed away at the scene before medical help could be administered, as confirmed by Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.
Images captured at the location show emergency response teams attending to the situation, with a stationary train nearby.
Law enforcement officials are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and provide any relevant information that could assist in their inquiry.
