“Sweet-Toothed Joyride: Ottawa Police Stop 13-Year-Old Unlicensed Driver on Candy Quest”

Ottawa police officers made an unexpected discovery this week when they stopped a vehicle moving at a snail’s pace on Strandherd Drive in the Barrhaven suburb. Behind the wheel was a 13-year-old teenager, accompanied by two friends of the same age, on a mission to satisfy their sweet tooth with a candy run.

The slow-moving vehicle drew attention from the officers due to its erratic lane-keeping behavior on the major road. Upon stopping the vehicle, police found that none of the occupants had a driver’s license, raising concerns about their safety and legality.

The young driver and passengers explained to the officers that their sole purpose for the risky joyride was to make a quick stop at the gas station for some candy.

Fortunately, the police were able to reach out to the children’s parents and guardians promptly, ensuring their safety and well-being. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the incident.
