Former Quebec Tennis Pro Swings into Music Scene with Debut Singles

Born just half an hour past Christmas Day and aptly named Noëlly, this former professional tennis player has seamlessly woven her love for the holidays into her latest venture – a heartwarming Christmas single titled “Christmas Just Wouldn’t be Christmas Without You.”

Noëlly Nsimba, inspired by the opportunity presented to her by Capriotti, transformed the traditional Christmas track into a whimsical and contemporary rendition. Expressing her excitement, she shared, “I listened to it and I loved it instantly. I worked in my home studio, adding harmonies to make it special.”

In addition to her festive release, Nsimba also dedicated an original piece titled “True Love” to her late uncle, André Lukombo, who battled pancreatic cancer. Describing the song as a tribute to enduring love amidst grief, she aims to resonate with those facing or dealing with loss.

Transitioning from the court to the stage, Nsimba made a symbolic shift from tennis to music by performing “O Canada” live at the Canadian Women’s Open in July 2025. Reflecting on this significant moment, she shared, “It was magical to combine my passions for tennis and music. Even as I embrace singing, tennis will always hold a special place in my heart.”

During the peak of the pandemic in 2021, Nsimba penned her debut single, “4 Da Love of Tennis,” drawing from a spontaneous burst of inspiration while working at a hospital. Proceeds from the song’s streams supported the Love & Love Tennis Foundation, championed by Hall of Famer Rosie Casals and Tory Fretz, which focuses on nurturing youth tennis programs.

Looking ahead, Nsimba shows no signs of slowing down, with aspirations to perform and create music, desserts, and explore coaching opportunities. She eagerly anticipates the possibility of reprising her role in singing the national anthem as the men’s tennis circuit visits Montreal this summer, with hopes of gracing the Montreal Canadiens game against the New York Islanders later this year.
