A man is fighting for his life after a dramatic encounter with a snowplow tractor in the town of Saint-Rémi, Montérégie.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning on Church Street, prompting swift action from emergency responders.
Initial accounts suggest that a pickup truck collided with the snow-clearing vehicle right after it finished its work at a residential driveway.
Sergeant Marythé Bolduc, the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), shed light on the unfolding events, stating that the pickup driver crashed into the departing snowplow tractor.
While the snowplow operator emerged unscathed, the driver of the pickup truck, who was alone in the vehicle, is now facing critical injuries.
“The man in his 30s was urgently rushed to a nearby hospital due to the severity of his condition,” informed Sergeant Bolduc.
Church Street remained shut down until later that morning as a collision investigator from the SQ delved into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
