A pedestrian was seriously injured in New Westminster on Sunday afternoon after being hit by a car in a Costco parking lot.
According to the New Westminster Police Department (NWPD), the incident took place at the intersection of Queensborough’s Tanaka Court and Gifford Street around 1:45 p.m. The victim was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries following the collision.
Officers at the scene provided immediate assistance to the victim until paramedics arrived for further medical attention.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. However, authorities are now reaching out to potential witnesses for more information.
Sergeant Andrew Leaver urged anyone who witnessed the incident in the busy parking lot to come forward, as they may have valuable information to assist with the case.
