Halton authorities are on the hunt for a gang of thieves who made off with a fleet of luxury vehicles, including a flashy Ferrari and a lineup of Porsches, Mercedes, and BMWs. The daring heist took place in the dead of night at a leasing company in Oakville.
According to police reports to CityNews, the brazen robbery occurred at Lockwood Leasing in the early hours of Jan. 11, where culprits shattered the storefront window to gain entry unnoticed. Seizing the opportunity, they rifled through a lockbox holding the keys to the high-end cars and drove away with eight prized vehicles, valued at a staggering $2 million.
The stolen collection boasted a mix of opulent rides, such as a Ferrari, two Porsches, three Mercedes-Benz models, and a duo of BMWs. Authorities disclosed that the daring thieves, clad in dark attire and masks, operated with precision in the synchronized theft. Surveillance footage is being scrutinized to piece together the crime puzzle.
While a trio of the purloined vehicles — a BMW, a Mercedes, and the coveted Ferrari — have been located in the Greater Toronto Area, the perpetrators remain at large. As the investigation unfolds, Halton police are determined to track down the remaining suspects to bring them to justice.
