Shooting in Montreal’s Lachine Borough Leaves Man Wounded

A man, aged 49, was injured in a shooting incident that occurred late on Sunday night in the Lachine borough of Montreal, according to authorities. The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) responded to a call at an apartment building on Camille Street, near Ouellette Ave., around 11:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body.

The wounded man was promptly transported to the hospital while conscious, and fortunately, his injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening, as confirmed by SPVM spokesperson Johany Charland. In response to the incident, the police established a perimeter at the scene and deployed a canine unit to aid in the search for potential evidence.

At present, no suspects have been apprehended, and the investigation remains ongoing.
