“AMP Blasts SAAQ for Multiple Failures in SAAQclic Debacle!”

The Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) faces a new challenge as the Autorité des marchés publics (AMP) accuses it of mismanagement in the SAAQclic project. The AMP criticizes several shortcomings that go against the principles of responsible fund management and fair competition.

One of the main issues highlighted by the AMP is the need for a real-time audit by internal auditors on the project’s framework agreement and related contracts. The SAAQ is required to report the audit results to the AMP every six months.

Furthermore, the SAAQ must address the unfulfilled deliveries specified in the agreement and communicate its plan of action to the AMP.

The launch of the SAAQclic platform in February 2023 was marred by technical issues, leading to long wait times at service points.

The SAAQ’s digital transformation, initially projected to cost $600 million, is now estimated to reach at least $1.1 billion, as revealed by the Auditor General of Quebec.
