Peel Regional Police are currently conducting an investigation into a vehicle fire that occurred overnight at a truck yard in Brampton, marking the second such incident in the vicinity in less than two weeks. The incident took place early Tuesday morning, with four vehicles intentionally set ablaze.
At around 3:16 a.m., emergency responders were alerted to the scene at 100 Rutherford Road South. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a scene where two heavy tow trucks, a car, and a box truck were all engulfed in flames.
The property, identified as M. Johal Auto Repairs Ltd., is a commercial establishment that offers maintenance and storage services for large vehicles.
Fortunately, the fire was swiftly brought under control, and there were no reported injuries. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the incident is being considered a case of arson.
This recent fire took place in close proximity to another significant blaze on Jan. 5, where several tow trucks were deliberately set alight at an auto yard along the same stretch of Rutherford Road. Investigators noted that surveillance footage captured multiple individuals entering the premises before the vehicles were ignited.
