Two men are currently facing serious charges for the tragic drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of 15-year-old Meriem Boundaoui in Montreal nearly five years ago. The suspects, Aymane Bouadi and Salim Touaibi, who were in their mid-20s at the time of the incident, appeared in court on Tuesday for their first-degree murder charges.
According to authorities, Boundaoui was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a dispute between two businesses in Saint-Leonard. The fatal incident occurred on February 7, 2021, when Boundaoui was seated in a stationary vehicle with another person. A second car approached, and one or more suspects opened fire, tragically striking the Montreal teen and a 21-year-old man on the sidewalk. Despite efforts to save her, Boundaoui succumbed to her injuries.
The court proceedings on Tuesday involved both accused individuals participating in early-morning sessions that included jury management. This case has garnered significant attention due to the senseless loss of a young life and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
