A series of traffic accidents caused delays near the Port Mann Bridge on Monday afternoon.
One collision involving multiple vehicles occurred in the eastbound direction at the Surrey offramp from Highway 1 at 4 p.m. Although the crash was cleared by 5:30 p.m., the right Surrey exit lane remained blocked.
In addition, two separate multi-vehicle crashes were reported in the westbound lanes around 5 p.m.
Emergency crews responded to a westbound vehicle incident at Cape Horn near the bridge, blocking the HOV, left, and center lanes. This caused significant delays, with callers to 1130 NewsRadio also reporting high-speed collisions further west of the bridge in Coquitlam.
Multiple crews were on the scene to clear the blockages in the left and middle westbound lanes, but drivers were advised to anticipate continued delays in both directions.
