“Major Weekend Construction Scheduled for Charles-De Gaulle Bridge: Plan Your Detours!”

Get Ready for Lane Closures on Charles-De Gaulle Bridge This Weekend

Attention drivers! Transport Quebec has announced that the Charles-De Gaulle Bridge will undergo lane closures this weekend for necessary repair work. Starting at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, until 4 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, one out of the three lanes on Highway 40, spanning from Gouin Boulevard East in Montreal to Route 344 (Saint-Charles Road), will be closed.

In addition to lane closures, expect slightly narrower lanes and a reduced speed limit of 50 km/h in both directions during the repair period.

To ensure the safety of workers, Transport Quebec notes that the construction site may be monitored by police and a speed camera will be put in place.

Drivers are advised to anticipate traffic congestion and are encouraged to check Quebec 511 for traffic updates and plan their route accordingly. Keep in mind that road work may be rescheduled in case of inclement weather.
