Canadiens Lock In Alexandre Texier with a $5 Million Deal Set to Boost Team for Next Two Seasons!

The Montreal Canadiens have secured forward Alexandre Texier for another two years with a new $5 million contract extension, announced on Wednesday.

Texier initially signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Canadiens on Nov. 23 following the termination of his contract with the St. Louis Blues.

Hailing from France, the 26-year-old has been a standout player in Montreal, tallying seven goals and nine assists in 25 games. This is a significant improvement from his one assist in eight games with the Blues.

Under the guidance of Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis, Texier has been elevated to the team’s top line alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. His stellar performance was highlighted by a hat trick in Montreal’s recent 6-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Jan. 8.

Standing at six-foot-one and weighing 196 pounds, Texier boasts a career NHL record of 47 goals and 60 assists across 265 regular-season games.

Texier is set to represent France at the upcoming Milan Cortina Olympic Games in February.
