Spanish authorities are currently investigating claims of sexual assault made against renowned singer Julio Iglesias by two former employees at his residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.
According to reports, the allegations suggest that Iglesias sexually and physically assaulted the women who worked at his Caribbean properties between January and October 2021. The singer has not yet publicly addressed these accusations, and his representative, entertainment lawyer Russell L. King, has not provided any comments on the matter.
Official statements from the Spanish prosecutors’ office reveal that formal complaints were lodged against Iglesias on January 5 by an undisclosed party. The office, which handles cases for Spain’s National Court, indicated that the singer could potentially face charges in Madrid for offenses committed abroad.
Media outlets elDiario.es and Univision Noticias conducted a joint investigation into the claims of misconduct against Iglesias, shedding light on the allegations that have surfaced against the 82-year-old music icon. Iglesias, known for his immense success in the music industry with over 300 million records sold in multiple languages, rose to fame in the 1970s and ’80s. He is also recognized as the father of pop sensation Enrique Iglesias.
