Commuters traveling on the GO Transit Lakeshore East line may face delays following a collision between a Via Rail train and a snowplow in Scarborough on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred on Scarborough Golf Club Road, just north of Kingston Road, around 2 p.m., as confirmed by the Toronto Police Service.

While the exact circumstances leading to the collision remain unclear, Metrolinx, the agency overseeing GO Transit, responded with a statement acknowledging the event. According to their report, the Via train collided with a snowplow in the area between Eglinton GO and Guildwood GO stations along the Lakeshore East line.

Emergency services are currently at the scene, and GO trains passing through the affected area are expected to experience delays, modifications, and potential cancellations as efforts are made to resume normal operations. Fortunately, there have been no reported physical injuries resulting from the incident.
