SAQ Unveils Bold Expansion: Mini-Stores Coming, Partners with Uber Eats for Direct Delivery!

The SAQ, known as Société des alcools du Québec, is set to revolutionize the retail landscape by introducing 30 to 40 products in local convenience and grocery stores. This initiative aims to cater to customers’ needs and preferences more effectively.

In an exciting development, the Crown corporation has announced plans to launch 92 “mini-stores” under the brand Zone SAQ in urban establishments by summer. Isabelle Dufour, VP of retail network operations, highlighted that these mini-stores will bridge the gap in the market and provide extended hours of service to customers.

Following successful pilot projects in multiple locations, the SAQ is now ready to expand its innovative retail approach. Despite initial concerns from stakeholders, including public health and union representatives, the SAQ remains committed to ensuring responsible alcohol sales practices in collaboration with partner stores.

Moreover, the SAQ is embracing modern delivery trends by partnering with Uber Eats for a pilot project starting in late February on the Island of Montreal. This move reflects the corporation’s dedication to meeting consumer expectations and enhancing convenience.

As the SAQ continues to evolve its retail strategy, it emphasizes the importance of adapting to changing consumer behaviors and market dynamics. By exploring new concepts and partnerships, such as the collaboration with Uber Eats, the SAQ aims to stay relevant and meet the evolving needs of its customers.
