Toronto authorities have apprehended and charged a police officer accused of multiple thefts.
According to investigators, the officer in question is accused of unlawfully taking items delivered to 52 Division without proper logging. Recovered items reportedly include government-issued IDs, bank cards, and passports.
The officer, identified as Constable Derek McCormick, aged 56, has been arrested and is facing charges for the alleged thefts. He is set to make an appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice.
Constable McCormick, who has served for 28 years, has been suspended with pay in accordance with the regulations of the Community Safety and Policing Act of Ontario.
