Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Two Children in Laval Crash
A heartbreaking incident unfolded on January 5 on Route 335 in Laval, resulting in the death of a five-month-old girl. The crash also claimed the life of her six-year-old sister the following day, as confirmed by police.
The devastating collision involved multiple vehicles, leaving a total of nine individuals, including the children’s parents, hospitalized. While seven people sustained injuries, another person was treated for shock. The parents are currently in stable condition.
The tragic event occurred around 7:30 p.m. between Dagenais Blvd. and Saint-Saëns Blvd. in the Auteuil sector. According to authorities, a vehicle traveling northbound lost control and collided with three other cars traveling in various directions.
The 40-year-old driver, suspected to be in the initial vehicle that triggered the crash, was apprehended by the police for questioning and later released with a promise to appear in court. As of now, no charges have been filed.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident, with reports indicating slippery and partially snow-covered road conditions at the time.
