The Abbotsford Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a homicide that occurred at a local hotel on Thursday morning.
Police responded to a call regarding a “suspicious circumstance” at the hotel on Marshall Road just after 11:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, officers secured the scene and determined that the incident took place in a room within the hotel, according to Sgt. Paul Walker.
After gathering additional evidence, authorities confirmed that the incident was indeed a homicide. Walker emphasized that the incident was contained and posed no threat to the general public, assuring that it was not linked to extortion.
A suspect has been apprehended and is currently under police custody, as mentioned by Walker. The investigation has now been handed over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
