According to information obtained by The Canadian Press, she decided some time ago that she was stepping away for family reasons.
A key figure in the CAQ for the last eight years, Guilbault served as deputy premier of Quebec from 2022 to 2025.
Her star dimmed after the SAAQclic cost-overrun scandal.
First elected in a 2017 byelection, she was re-elected in 2018 and 2022.
