The body recovered a week ago from the St. Lawrence River at the Port of Quebec is that of Susana Rocha Cruz, who appears to have been the victim of a homicide.
The Quebec City police department (SPVQ) confirmed Tuesday morning that the body was that of the 44-year-old woman who had been missing since Jan. 7 in Quebec City.

“The investigation shows that this was a homicide,” authorities also said.
A suspect has been arrested for assault causing bodily harm and is expected to appear in Quebec City court on Tuesday on other charges.
Rocha Cruz’s body was recovered on Jan. 13 in the early afternoon near a wharf in the Port of Quebec.
The victim, of Mexican origin, worked as a housekeeper in the hotel industry.
