A 66-year-old man from Toronto, Vahid Hossein-Nia, has been charged by York Regional Police for allegedly engaging in an indecent act while hiding behind garbage cans inside a Markham community centre.
The incident took place at the Milliken Mills Community Centre in the Kennedy Road and 14th Avenue area on Dec. 5, 2025, around 6 p.m. Reports indicated that witnesses and staff observed the man using the garbage cans as cover while behaving inappropriately in the facility’s main hallway. The man managed to flee before the arrival of officers.
Following a return to the community centre on Dec. 7, 2025, police were able to locate and apprehend the suspect inside the building.
Hossein-Nia, a frequent visitor to the community centre, has been charged with an indecent act. Investigators suspect that there may be additional unreported incidents involving the accused and are seeking information from the public to aid in their ongoing inquiry.
