A woman sustained critical injuries in Ajax on Thursday after being hit by a vehicle, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m. when Durham Regional Police Service officers responded to a call at the junction of Kingston Road West and Ritchie Avenue, close to Westney Road South.
Emergency medical services rushed the woman to a trauma center in Toronto in a critical state.
As a result of the ongoing collision investigation, the intersection has been shut down to traffic.
