The Toronto Maple Leafs have been forced to change their weekend plans due to the severe weather conditions expected in the area. Originally scheduled for an outdoor practice from Saturday to Monday, the team has announced the cancellation of the event.
Forecasts predict temperatures as low as minus 25 degrees Celsius in Toronto over the weekend, prompting the team to shift gears. Instead of the outdoor practice, the Maple Leafs will now host an open practice at the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Monday.
This event will be a special occasion as it marks only the third time since 1999 that the Maple Leafs are returning to the historic Mattamy Athletic Centre, formerly known as the Maple Leaf Gardens where the team played for 68 seasons.
Fans attending the practice on Monday will have the opportunity to interact with players, coaches, and even WWE superstars who are in town for Monday Night RAW. The WWE superstars will be participating in a three-on-three tournament to support the Maple Leafs, adding an exciting element to the event.
In terms of games, the Maple Leafs will be back in action on Friday, with a highly anticipated matchup as they welcome back Mitch Marner to Toronto for the first time since he joined the Vegas Golden Knights.
