In Burnaby, a string of concerning incidents including public nudity and masturbation has prompted an investigation by the local RCMP.
Over the span of five days from Jan. 15 to 20, five separate incidents were reported to the police. Four of these incidents occurred in Central Park at night, while the fifth took place on the Highland Park Trail after dark, near Beresford Street and Magnolia Terrace.
Cpl. Laura Hirst emphasized the importance of collecting information from the victims to identify any similarities and build a profile of the individual or individuals responsible. The RCMP aims to keep the public informed as the investigation progresses.
While details about the suspect have not been released as investigators work to ensure accuracy, Hirst reassured the community that there will be an increased police presence in the affected areas.
