“First Homicide of the Year: Suspect Nabbed in Vancouver Stabbing Incident”

Authorities have apprehended a suspect in connection with the first murder of the year in the city.

A 22-year-old individual was taken into custody on January 24 in relation to the tragic killing of 48-year-old Christopher Jumal Sanderson in East Vancouver just a week ago.

On the evening of January 20, around 8:30 p.m., police responded to a call at East 10th Avenue and Commercial Drive, where the victim was discovered. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries later.

Following a search warrant at a residence near Commercial Drive and East 13th Avenue on January 24, the arrest was made.

Quoc The Cathedral Dang has been formally charged with second-degree murder.

He is currently held in custody.
