A 31-year-old man from Toronto has been taken into custody and formally charged in connection with a serious assault case.
The incident unfolded in the Wychwood area of Toronto on January 22, as reported by a woman who was attacked by an unidentified individual while out for a walk near Vaughan Road and St. Clair Avenue West around 1:20 a.m.
Following the assault, the assailant fled in the direction of Vaughan Road, leaving the victim injured on the ground with severe wounds, according to a recent update from the authorities.
Ricardo Jaylan Beckford surrendered himself to the police on Sunday, leading to his arrest and the filing of a charge of aggravated assault against him.
Beckford is scheduled to make his court appearance on Monday.
