VPD Seeks Public Aid to Identify Woman Found Deceased in Strathcona Shelter

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman who tragically passed away at a shelter in the Strathcona neighborhood last month.

Referred to as “Lindsay” by shelter staff, the woman arrived at the East Cordova Street shelter between December 20 and 21, where she stayed for a week before being discovered deceased in her bed on December 27.

Described as Asian, aged between 65 and 75, with short grey hair and tattooed eyebrows, Lindsay stood at around 5’2″ and weighed 110 pounds. Despite her distinctive features, she did not speak much English and was not a regular visitor at the shelter.

While there are no reports of her being missing and authorities do not suspect foul play in her passing, the VPD is keen to identify her and is urging anyone who may recognize her to contact their Missing Person Unit at 604-717-2530.
