Toronto police are on the lookout for a suspect following a brutal attack at Wellesley Subway Station that left a man severely injured.
The incident took place on Monday evening at approximately 7 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a violent altercation unfolding on the northbound platform of the station.
According to investigators, the victim and the suspect were both passengers on the northbound train when a physical confrontation erupted between them. Upon arrival at Wellesley, the situation escalated as the suspect allegedly subjected the victim to multiple kicks before making a hasty escape from the scene.
The victim sustained critical injuries and was swiftly taken to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect is identified as a Black male, standing around 6 feet tall and wearing a black puffer jacket with a distinctive horizontal pattern and the hood pulled over his head.
Authorities are appealing to any witnesses who may have observed the assault or recorded footage of the incident on the train or platform to come forward and assist the investigation promptly.
