Roberge Backs Fréchette as Drainville Gains Key Allies in Expanding Political Showdown

The two contenders vying for leadership of the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) made a strong impact during the opening day of the back-to-school caucus in Trois-Rivières. Bernard Drainville stood alongside his supporters, showcasing his backing from MNAs, with new endorsements from MNAs Shirley Dorismond and Luc Provençal. In a competitive move, Christine Fréchette gained significant support from Jean-François Roberge, the Minister in charge of Secularism.

In a noteworthy turn of events, Fréchette now boasts a total of 16 supporters, including six ministers, while Drainville’s camp has expanded to eight supporters, including one minister.
