“Toronto Gripped by Bone-Chilling Cold: Yellow Warning Issued for Frigid Overnight Freeze!”

Toronto is bracing for frigid temperatures and continued snowfall following a rare winter storm. Environment Canada has issued a yellow cold warning as the city faces wind chill values near -25°C with gusts over 50 km/h overnight into the next morning.

CityNews Meteorologist Jessie Uppal warns of blowing snow and intermittent lake effect snow on Tuesday, as Arctic air grips the region through the week. Daytime highs are expected to hover between -8°C and -10°C, making it feel even colder due to the wind chill.

With the city under the icy grip of winter, warming centers are operating 24/7 to provide refuge for those in need. Residents can access these centers without contacting Central Intake, and in case of capacity issues, the City will arrange transportation to alternate locations.

As the week progresses, temperatures are forecasted to hit a high of -9°C on Wednesday, -11°C on Thursday, and -10°C on Friday, accompanied by a mix of sun and cloud with chances of flurries.
